Chris grew up in the St. Louis area, but moved to Dallas, Texas to attend high school. In 1988, and after two years in college, he moved to Germany to further his studies. Chris moved to Atlanta in 1990 and finished school at Georgia State in 1991 and began to settle in the finance world. In 2003 he incorporated Chris Coleman Enterprises. The company was built around an idea brought to him by his friend, Manny Lehman. That same year, 2003, he produced my first event at Club 1150 (currently OPERA). His company grew very fast and I ended up resigning from my finance career to pursue “enterprise” endeavors with CCE.
What is your favorite thing about Atlanta?
I have a lot of favorite things about Atlanta. Great shopping, fantastic restaurants, four seasons of weather … Atlanta has been my home for 21 years. I love it.
What is your ideal night in Atlanta?
I am on the cusp of Virgo and Libra. I hold a very distinctive Libra trait. Balance. My ideal night in Atlanta could range from a great dinner and an IMAX movie, going out for drinks or just relaxing at home with a DVD. It’s all about balancing your life!
What is your guilty pleasure?
I have too many to list! My partner is a pastry chef, so my number one guilty pleasure is his amazing desserts.
If you could be stuck in an elevator with one person (living or dead) who would it be and why?
I’d have to say either Michael Buble or Karen Carpenter. I could just sit back and listen to an amazing voice until we were rescued.
What is your drag name?
I was once told that if you didn’t have a drag name, you should choose your first pet’s name as your last name and the name of the street you grew up on as your first name. So, “Mississippi Duke”
