Consider our balls jingled.
You may have seen our Facebook feed Wednesday night at the red carpet of Power 96.1’s FIRST ever Jingle Ball 2012. Philips Arena was full of high-profile stars, with Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias, Ke$ha, Flo Rida, Owl City, Bridgit Mendler and Austin Mahone — all of whom performed outstanding sets for the inaugural Jingle Ball held in our fair city. DJs Elvis Duran of the “Elvis Duran and the Power Morning Show,” Maddox, and Sonic all made special appearances on stage alongside beautiful guest presenters Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Stewart of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
The crowd went wild for the slew of talent that made their way to Atlanta for the star-studded holiday concert. The show kicked off with rising young talents Bridgit Mendler and Austin Mahone, and punctuated by a performance from The Saturdays. They were later followed by Flo-Rida who performed “Whistle” to the sold out crowd and invited singer-songwriter T-Pain on stage to perform their hit single, “Low” to close out his set. Then Ke$ha strummed an electric guitar as she had everyone singing along with a colorful live melody of her hits including “We R Who We R,” “Blah Blah Blah,” and “Tik Tok.” Girls were in tears as Justin Bieber performed a full set to the packed house including “Beauty and a Beat,” “Girlfriend,” and invited surprise guest (Atlanta native Ludacris) to close out the show with their hit rendition of “Baby”. Tall, dark, and handsome Enrique Iglesias heated up the crowd the most with his performance including his hits “I Like It,” and “Finally Found You.”
Definitely on the list of things to do next year, the Power 96.1 Jingle Ball was a blast and is sure to be even better in 2013. The folks at Power 96.1 and all the performers above asked that I give you one more message, too… Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
